In 1940, Lloyd Solie announced that a mortuary would be built at 3301 Colby Avenue in Everett, Washington. Lloyd and his father, H.J. Solie, an immigrant pioneer of Everett, worked with architects Alvin Erickson and Howard Tollefson to draw plans and direct the construction. Solie Funeral Home opened its doors to serve families that same year. Lloyd was well known for his good heart, kind ways, and his genuine tenderness to grieving families and the tradition continues with the second generation. Considered an Everett pioneer, he is well known for bringing his Norwegian heritage into the community. In 1974, Lloyd became business partners with Paul Lorentzen. Lloyd Solie passed away October 16, 1996 and Paul Lorentzen July 22,1999. His family continues the long line of family traditions.

Solie Funeral Home and Crematory continues to be the only family owned and operated funeral home in Everett providing traditional, contemporary and hometown funeral services. Our Funeral Home has been committed to serving the community’s needs for funeral and memorial services for over 80 years. If your family prefers a formal service with quiet atmosphere, you will find it with us. If a more casual service in an intimate setting setting is preferred, you will find that too. Our goal is to create a personalized, meaningful memorable service that provides comfort for family and friends. Today, the staff and owners continue the tradition of professionalism and excellence that has been handed down from generations of commitment to family.

Our on-site crematory was built in June of 2000 and was designed to meet the needs and the comfort for traditional witness cremations. We are the only independent funeral home in Snohomish County that owns and operates an on-premise crematory. The families we serve take special comfort in knowing their loved one never leaves our care. Family tradition, local ownership and attention to detail. These qualities helped us set the standard for quality funeral service in the greater Snohomish County area. Since 1940, families have depended on us to be there when a death occurs. At Solie Funeral Home, we pride ourselves on our high standards of service to our families. We serve all faiths and all cemeteries. Our staff takes pride in listening carefully to your preferences and helping you select from the wide variety of choices to plan a fitting tribute. When you lose a loved one, saying goodbye is important and we want to arrange a service that reflects a life well lived.
