Zebedee “Zeb” Cobbs was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, proud Navy veteran, and Rotarian, whose presence made people feel seen, valued, and heard. On February 11, 2026, Zeb peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home at the age of seventy-five.
Born in Galveston, Texas, Zeb later made Washington State his home after serving his country in the United States Navy. He shared fifty-one beautiful years in a deep and enduring love with his wife, Betty Cobbs, affectionately known to him as “BJ.” Their love story began in 1972 and was the foundation of the family Zeb cherished more than anything else. He was a proud and protective father to his sons, Zebulun and Zachary, and a doting grandfather whose joy was found in his family’s happiness and success.
Zeb was a lifelong learner with a curious mind and a generous heart. For more than five decades, he worked as a master barber-stylist, retiring in 2023. His hair salon was never just a place for a haircut; it was a safe space and a second home for many. Zeb offered wisdom, encouragement, laughter, and honest conversation to everyone who sat in his chair, leaving a lasting mark on countless lives over the years.
A man of faith, Zeb accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and lived his life guided by love, hope, and service. He was a long-standing member and deacon at Second Baptist Church. Zeb remained steadfast in his faith even when illness limited his ability to attend services in person. He also gave back through his active membership and involvement with the Rotary Club of Everett for over twenty-nine years. His goal was always to support and uplift others.
Zeb will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and the way he loved deeply without condition. He had a gift for conversation, a calming presence, and an unshakable devotion to the people he loved. Though he will be dearly missed, his legacy lives on through his family, faith, and the many lives he touched.
Zeb was preceded in death by his parents, Celestine and Mel Dee Cobbs, Sr; and siblings, Dexter, and Venolia Cobbs. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Dr. Betty Cobbs of Everett, Washington; sons, Zebulun (Cheery Mae) of Auburn, WA, and Zachary (Vicky) of Everett, Washington; his brothers, Mel Dee , Jr. and Thad Cobbs; and sisters, Celestine “Tina”, and Rosina Cobbs all of Texas; four beloved grandsons, Isaiah, Isaac Cobbs of Tacoma, WA and Adrian and Julian Cobbs of Everett, WA; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor a man whose love, faith, and guidance will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
