Shawn Daggett passed away on February 12, 2026, at the age of 65. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Shawn is survived by his wife, Carrie; daughter, Kate; mother, Nancy Campbell; brother, Kevin Daggett; stepmother, Cathy Daggett; and many friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.

Shawn grew up in the Pacific Northwest and spent most of his life there, aside from some reportedly wild years in California and a proud stint in the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved this region deeply—camping in the Cascade Mountains, kayaking the waters of Puget Sound, and walking Washington’s Pacific beaches with his dogs. After seeing Eric Clapton in concert in 1978, Shawn decided on the spot to become a guitar player. He was an accomplished player with a remarkable singing voice, and he often joked that there was no such thing as too many guitars—despite his wife’s differing opinion. From a young age, Shawn was driven to understand how things worked and how to fix them, a talent he turned into a lifelong craft—and he was damn good at it. Shawn’s love for animals, especially the dogs who brightened his life through the years, was a hallmark of his gentle spirit. He never passed a dog without asking to pet it and often said that dogs were a gift from God.

Shawn’s daughter, Kate, held a special place in his heart. Her diagnosis with 1p36 deletion syndrome inspired his strong support for awareness and research. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shawn’s memory to 1p36 Deletion Support and Awareness: www.1p36DSA.com/donate

A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. Those who wish to share memories or condolences are invited to reach out to Carrie and the family. Shawn’s warmth, kindness, humor, music and love of the Pacific Northwest will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
