Ralph LaVerne Bowers Jr. passed away in the early hours of June 20th, 2023 in his Everett, Washington home. He was born on December 29th 1954 to Constance Bisson and Ralph Bowers Sr. in Everett, Washington. He was 68 when he passed and is survived by his four children, Christine Scott, Sarah Ella Jonason, Ralph Bowers III, and Samuel Bowers, and his six grandchildren, Sadie Maynard, McKenzie Scott, Madison Scott, Darrell Scott II, Lucas Bowers, and William Bowers, as well as siblings: Carolee Thomle, Rod VonThun, Rick Bowers, and Margie George.
He was known for his love of classical music, music composition, playing guitar, collecting firearms, competition shooting, fishing, hunting, and debating politics. He served his country as Military Police in the U.S. Army from 1975 – 77 and was stationed at Fort Clayton in Panama, 3D Platoon, 534 MP Co during that time. He served in the Army Reserves from 1980 – 1985 in Washington state where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He attended Everett Community College and completed his Associates Degree in 1980 then went to Western Washington University and obtained his Bachelor’s of Music from the College of Fine and Performing Arts in 1980. In 1993 he finished his Master’s of Music at the Graduate School at Western Washington University.
He married once and raised his family of four children in Everett, WA. Family was important to him and he always put the benefit of his children above all else. He worked for Snohomish School District as a custodian for over 28 years and served as a member of Public School Employees SPE/SEIU Local 1948 until he retired from Seattle Hill Elementary School in 2021. He was beloved by the people he worked with, his family and his friends, and he was easy to like and get along with. He had a deep sense of morals and considered himself a Christian. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him either personally, or remotely.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at Jennings Park Barn in Marysville on July 28th, 2023. Memorial Service starts at 2:30, Potluck dinner at 4pm for the benefit of friends and family. Please bring a dish to share, something you know Ralph liked. Clean up starts at 9pm.
