In Loving Memory of Myrtle Irma Miller

Irma, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend, was born on March 4, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Charity Hospital, to the union of Montgomery and Elnora Stewart. She departed this life surrounded by the love and memories of those who cherished her deeply.

She was a woman of many talents and a heart full of love. She dedicated much of her life as a homemaker, caring lovingly for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. She was also a gifted seamstress, a master in cooking and baking, and someone who found joy in serving others through her many skills and passions.

Throughout her life, Myrtle worked in retail at K-Mart and also served as a meter maid for the City of Everett. No matter where she worked, she was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and warm spirit.

Irma faithfully loved and served her church home, Second Baptist Church of Everett, for many years. Her family, church family, and friends meant the world to her, and she expressed her love in countless ways, especially through thoughtful gift giving. Whether during holidays or life’s special occasions, Myrtle made sure everyone received one of her special gifts. She had a beautiful way of making those around her feel loved, valued, and remembered, always ensuring they knew her love was endless.

Irma loved life’s simple pleasures. You could often find her enjoying a good game of bingo, searching for treasures at garage sales, bargain shopping, or creating beautiful arts and crafts. She had a special way of making everyday moments memorable and joyful for those around her.

Irma was one of fourteen siblings and cherished the bond she shared with her large family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Montgomery and Elnora Stewart; her beloved husband, Joash Miller of 47 years, who preceded her in death on December 20, 2020; and nine brothers and sisters.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her three brothers, Earl Stewart, Eugene Stewart, and Gregory Stewart; one sister, Althea Stewart; along with her children, Davena Grace, Vanessa Capers, Derek Turner, and Joash R. Miller; 5 grandchildren, Madison, Sheryle, Joash, Shavon, and Shanyce. Her Godchildren Myah Fleming and Jamya Jones; a great deal of extended family, and many dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her love, laughter, generosity, and strength.

Irma’s legacy of love, creativity, resilience, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
