b. October 3, 1945

Loyd Leslie May 1945- 2017 "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." -Helen Keller Loyd Leslie May was born on October 3rd, 1945 in Middletown, MO. He graduated from WM High School in Wellsville, MO, and later attended Missouri University. Loyd moved to Phillips, WI to pursue his love for canoeing, dogsledding, and the outdoors. He met his wife Marilu there, and raised three children together in the Northwoods. Loyd's work in the plastic tooling industry eventually led him and his family to the Pacific Northwest. He worked for various companies as a tooling consultant, with much of his work done in the medical and technology industry. Loyd enjoyed sailing on Puget Sound, and later worked with a friend to learn the craft of boat surveying. Loyd always stayed on the cutting edge of technology, and was never afraid to try new concepts. He was an innovator, and has passed on his love for creating and tinkering to his family. Loyd is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen May, and his sister Alma Weilmuenster. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Marilu, his children, Sarah, Charlie, and Jessi, grandchildren Alexa, Mary Helen, and William Loyd, and siblings David May and Katherine LeMasters. A celebration of life will be held at Solie Funeral Home on the 10th of August. Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at Pancan.org.
