July 28, 1939 ~ May 17, 2018 Lourdes Cundangan Demeo was born July 28, 1939 to Isidra Legarda and Victorio Cundangan. Lou was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. After graduating high school in Manila, she pursued her career in Cosmetology. As a single parent to Rene Antonio, Soledad, Joselito and Leilani, Lou then ventured into a small business, her own beauty shop. Later in life, due to some unavoidable circumstances, she switched her interest in working overseas. She worked with a Belgium national and run a trading house in Iran. When war broke, she was transferred to work for the Philippine Consulate in Tehran. In mid 1984, she traveled to Japan and later moved to New Jersey to live with her sister Luisita. From New Jersey, she moved to California to settle down. She worked many years in retail but still had the passion on making other people happy through her skills on cosmetology. Lou's act of service is her love language. And this is the reason why she had hundreds of friends loving her. Ballroom dancing was her favorite of all time. Friday's Senior Day was fun day for her and her dear friends with dancing, singing, group tours, and special holiday parties from time to time. Lou's faith in God gave her strength in dealing with the everyday struggle she faced in her life. The car accident she was involved in 2004 left her with brain damage and paralyzed. But that didn't keep her from some of the things she loves to do. After almost a year of therapy and medical attention, she was able to recover. Wheelchair bound, she still did her act of service for others. She made rosaries and crochet scarves for friends, family, and other people. The love of her family and friends gave her the fortitude to accept the situation she's at. But she lost her fight to meningioma. Lou leaves behind her children: Rene Antonio, Soledad, Joselito and Alyn, and Leilani. She also leaves behind her sister Luisita and brother-in-law John, and her brother Manuel; her grandchildren: Arturo and Jessica Macabalitao, Michelle and Paulo Pinto, Alejandro Macabalitao, Anthony and Julie Macabalitao, Elijah Spencer, Nikolai Ilagan, and Rafael Ilagan; her great grandchildren: Isiah Macabalitao, Ian Macabalitao, Leila Soledad Macabalitao, Angelina Macabalitao, Giselle Pinto, Alexandre Pinto, and Anderson Pinto.
