Dorothy R. Post moved on to sing in heaven's choir on October 22, 2021. Dorothy was born in Tacoma, Wash. in 1929 at the beginning of the Great Depression to parents Harry and Ruth. She was a proud first generation Scandinavian and a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. After graduation from Stadium High School in Tacoma, she worked for a number of years before her marriage to Warren Post. They were happily married for 67 years and raised 3 small children on a small farm in the Yakima Valley. Faith and family were top priorities for Dorothy. She was a well known soprano soloist in the church where she also taught Sunday School and was actively involved in mercy ministry. Family dinners were always a celebration no matter the occasion and almost always included singing/music, apple pie, and ice cream. She is survived by two sisters, Florence and Maxine; her three children, Karin (Bruce), Doug (Kathy), and Janice; 4 grandchildren Kevin, Hamilton, Kelsey, and Nicholas; 1 great granddaughter, Gwennie; and many nieces and nephews. Although Dorothy will be greatly missed, we rejoice in her freedom from the pain and limitations hindering her on earth. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her beloved, Harry, in Yakima, Wash.
