We are deeply saddened to share that David Rowland passed unexpectedly on April 27, 2026. David was born in Boston on January 8, 1967, and grew up in Snohomish, Washington.
David lived an outstanding life of his own making. He wanted to motivate and bring out the best in people and bring them together. He spent 34 years with his best friend, his wife Mary. They shared many interests and adventures and truly loved each other. He loved his daughters, Ally and Amy, their spouses, his grandkids, and many longtime friends who were more like family. He loved his cats, Ellen and Teddy, and cared deeply for all animals wild and domestic.
Dave and Mary’s home on the lake was his sanctuary, and he shared this beautiful place with family, friends, and neighbors whenever he could. Days at the lake were filled with boating, surfing, swimming, sharing meals, and offering hospitality to anyone who came through the door. He found solace on the lake and loved the sea.
His mother, Vicki, shares, “My son was my rock. He always tried to help everyone and make life better for us. I had the honor of being his mother and was the lucky recipient of his generous loving spirit. My partner Ken was his friend and though he wasn’t old enough to be Dave’s father, he thought of himself as being a father figure to him. They enjoyed working together on many home improvement projects.”
David was a special man we loved dearly, and we will carry him in our hearts always.
David is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters Ally (Lewis) and Amy (Thomas); grandchildren Hazel, Willow, and Tommy; his mother Vicki (Ken); his sister, Angie (Miles); his niece Nicole (Winston); and countless other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his niece, Amira.
