Calvin “Pops” Lewis, 61, was an amazing father, brother, and friend. We are deeply saddened by his unexpected passing on May 1, 2026, in his loving home, surrounded by his grandbabies, Ghost and Kurtys. He lived a life filled with love and laughter.

Calvin was born in Los Angeles on January 1, 1965. He was raised by his mother, father, and older siblings. After graduating from Job Corps with many certifications, he eventually made his way to Oahu, where he lived with his older brother and later met his ex-wife and her family. Six years later, he welcomed his first and only child, his daughter, who became the light of his life. He raised her while continuing to live in Oahu for 23 years.

In 2019, he moved to Everett to be closer to his daughter after she relocated to Washington State. From then on, he lived with her until the very end.

Everyone who met Calvin felt his love and support through both good times and bad. He loved watching old NBA games on repeat — and when he said he loved basketball, he truly meant it. He was a huge fan of not only the NBA, but college basketball as well. Nothing compared to his love for Godzilla, Transformers, and Fast & Furious movies. But with all the love he had for movies and sports, he loved his grandbabies even more. Ghost and Kurtys were his best friends, and he did everything he could to make sure they were happy.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Sherry Lewis; son-in-law, James W. Hager; sisters, Eunice Pitts and Diana Pitts, along with their children; brothers, Phillip Pitts and Kevin Pitts, along with their children. He is also survived by his non-blood family, the Cajalnes.
