Theodore Mark De Budden

June 17, 1955 — February 16, 2024

Theodore Mark “Ted” de Budden, 68, of Everett, Washington, passed away on February 16, 2024, after a short battle with Lung Cancer. He died at home with his wife and one of his sons by his side.

Ted was born June 17, 1955, to Doug and Jean Budden in Seattle, WA. He grew up in Woodinville and had a life-long love of wood and carpentry. After graduating high school he started his own business, All Service Builders. He worked on 12-13 houses and businesses in downtown Snohomish including the complete restoration of the Soap Suds Row Houses for the Snohomish Housing Authority in 1985. Those houses, which remain today, are from the logging era when loggers would bring their laundry to town to be washed by the ladies at the “the little laundry cottages”. He also was instrumental in moving Blackman’s Museum to its current location. And he did extensive restoration while living at 317 Glen Ave., The Redmond House. Ted gained a reputation as a skilled, conscientious worker and was hired by Everett Olson to run one of his crews. All while raising a family. In 1988 he was hired by the City of Everett and became the 2nd Chief Building Inspector. His father, Douglas Budden, was the 1st Chief Inspector for the City from 1977 until 1988. Ted remained in that position, respected by all who knew him, until he retired at the end of September 2020.

He is survived by his wife Susan de Budden; one brother, Dennis Budden (Jan); three sisters, Beth Bollinger (George), Cindy Wagner (Steve), Carrie Bolden; three children, Travis Budden, Blake Budden (Lanae), Aleana Martin (Azariah); three grandchildren, Tayvin Doughty, Quintyn Doughty, Grady Budden. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, supervisor, friend and co-worker.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but we are comforted that he is at peace and with God.

A Celebration of Life and Loving Memorial will take place on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, 11:00am, at Solie Funeral Home, 3301 Colby Ave, Everett, WA 98201.
