Shereen Doughty

Shereen Doughty, 69, passed away January 18, 2018 at her home after battling ovarian cancer for eight years. She was born on May 7, 1948 in Austin, Minnesota to Thomas and Irene (Clark) Stanton and lived in a family of six girls. Shereen grew up in Seattle and was educated at Issaquah High and Seattle University. She married Dale Doughty in 1970 in Seattle. She traveled the world and taught in Australia before settling down and starting a family. Shereen was an active member of Immaculate Conception parish for 40 years. She enjoyed spoiling her children and grandchildren, creating needlepoint masterpieces, and finding that perfect bolt of fabric for her many artistic projects. She will always be remembered for her love of tassels and umbrellas and those fantastic croissants. Shereen was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mimi Sweet. She is survived by her spouse; her children, Theron and wife, Christa, Odette and husband, Brian Ellis and Caleb and wife, Katie and grandchildren: Sara, Brett, Jason, Megan, Alice, and Bennett. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 2501 Hoyt Avenue in Everett , WA at 11 a.m., January 27, 2018 with a reception in Mattie Hall to follow. Private burial service at Mt Carmel will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research, 801 Broadway, Suite 701 Seattle, WA 98122. The family especially thanks Drs. Hank Kaplan, Saul Rivkin, Buck Peters and the Swedish team for their outstanding efforts.
