Jerry Robert Sparks

Jerry Robert Sparks passed away on Friday, March 1st, 2024, in Everett, WA. He was 77.

Jerry was born on October 28th, 1946, in Wenatchee WA to Vern and Betty Sparks- 7 minutes after his twin brother Garry.

He grew up in Wenatchee and while in high school worked at Jones and Jones funeral home. In his late teens, he was the drummer in the band, "Linda Jo and the Nomads". They played many places in Eastern WA and even recorded 2 songs with Julian Records, "Stop your Cryin" and " Just like you". He married Linda Jo Bellamy on October 8th,1965 and they had two daughters.

After getting his degrees in Mortuary Sciences and Funeral Service Education in 1975, he went on to work at many funeral homes as a funeral director, mortician, assistant manager and manager. He also worked for a time, as the Snohomish County deputy coroner.

Besides being in the funeral business for many years, Jerry loved all kinds of music, especially songs with a good beat:) and would sit in as drummer for different bands in Washington whenever he was available.

He loved playing drums and played a little guitar. He played both throughout his life. He also loved comedy and was a huge fan of George Carlin and if you knew Jerry, he most likely reminded you of George:) Jerry was very funny and had an innate sense of humor.

In May of 1988, Jerry met the love of his life, Nancy when introduced to her by Jim & Kerri Covert at the May Day Festival in Oroville, WA. They married on August 5th, 1989.

Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years, Nancy Sparks, children Wendy Sparks Walker of Marysville, WA, Joni Sparks Kuhn (Mike) of Fargo, ND, Matt Skipper (Amber) of Everett, WA, grandchildren, Derek Reimers of Chicago, Ill, Austin Reimers of Seattle WA, Quest Kuhn of Fargo. ND, Ally Parise of Sequim, Rachel Parise of Orcas Island, Mark Walker of Bellingham, Peyton and Preston Skipper of Everett and great grandaughter, Olivia Browning of Sequim; Brothers, Garry Sparks (Patti), Jeff Sparks (Vickie) and Jay Sparks of Wenatchee, WA. Nieces, Robin Sparks Crawford, Cheryl Sparks McGinnis, Heather Sparks Fasching, Lisa Sparks Juchmes and nephew Tye Sparks, all of Wenatchee. Brother in law, Kevin Love (Lynn) and Sister in law, Bobbie Love.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Vern & Betty Sparks, his daughter, Sarah Skipper, father and mother in law, Warren and Maxine Love, brother in law, Shanon Love and best friend, Dave Sharp.

Visitation will be held at the Solie Funeral Home Chapel, 3301 Colby Ave, Everett, WA on April 10th, 2024 from 2pm to 6pm.

Funeral Services will be April 12th in Oroville WA at the United Fellowship Church, 908 Fir St, Oroville, WA, beginning with visitation at 10am and Funeral at12:00 PM followed by internment at Oroville Riverview Cemetery
