Florence Joanne Ness

Joanne was born on December 11th, 1933, in Seattle, Washington to Florence and Peter Blomberg. In 1957, Joanne met and married Harry H. Ness. They lived in the Seattle area for more than 35 years, raising 7 children. Joanne and Harry later moved to Mt. Vernon, Washington and then to Marysville, Washington. Joanne passed away on June 30th, 2023 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband (Harry); her parents; sisters, Lorraine and Peggy; and son, John. She leaves behind her children: Jim (Linda), Dick, Tom (Melanie), Kristi (Ned), Peter and Karla. She is survived by her sister, Ariel Skimming; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Joanne and Harry were married for 58 years before he passed away in January of 2016. As a wife and mother, Joanne spent her time at home raising and caring for her family. As her kids grew older, Joanne enjoyed working outside the home. She had a knack for knitting and created some of the most blankets that are treasured by many. Her service will be at Our Lady of Hope Church, 2501 Hoyt Avenue, Everett, WA. on Monday, July 31st at 11:00am. Interment will be at Mount Tahoma Cemetery at a later date.
